Our first Kaïkø Studïø delivery arrived this week, and, just as we suspected, it's divine. We now stock a selection of their necklaces, earrings and brooches, as well as concrete pots, trays, planters and candle holders. Kaïkø are a design-duo who combine the 'botanical and organic' with the 'architectural and geometric'. The result is clean, simple but sophisticated, and stunning, design. You'll be delighted to hear that all of their creations are made in Co. Wicklow - which is like low food miles; but not food, and definitely don't eat them.

Circular concrete pot with steps €19.95 & Nautical necklace €34.95

Now, up close and personal with this concrete candle holder/planter €34.95.

These beautiful spheres are hand-painted with water-based metallic gold paint and sealed with eco-top coat, making them perfect for planting.

Lava bead (!) and brass aromatherapy necklace €24.60. If there's a cooler name than that then I'd like to hear it. The lava bead can be infused with essential oils of your choice. Yum.

Book of the Week #2

As a nod to Circus250: Art of the Show, the exhibition now taking place in the Hugh Lane room in the gallery, this week's Book of the Week is The Circus 1870-1950s from Taschen.

"Daredevils and scantily clad starlets, fearless animal trainers and startling "freaks". This behind-the-scenes look at the American circus brings together original posters and lithographs as well as remarkable circus photography to explore the glamour and the grit of what was once the largest showbiz on earth" - read more

Each week you'll find a new book of the week beside the till, alongside the previous week's title, both of which will be on sale with 10% off for their fortnight in the spotlight.

Last week's title was Solar Bones by Mike McCormack

And finally, here's a very nice picture of two gallery shop staff members celebrating Circus250 yesterday, during the first ever Thursday Lates event

See you next week!
