This week's blog post comes to you from under the sea. A shoal of very beautiful cotton fish has landed in the gallery shop. Don Fisher's quirky backpacks, handbags, coin purses, keychains and pencil cases are all handmade in Barcelona. If you've ever wanted to carry your purse in a tuna then the day has finally come. These gorgeous accessories will be offish-ally (sorry) gracing our shelves from Monday April 30th - but sure look it, here's a very sneaky peek right now...
Ahoy there Triggerfish, Mackerel and pretty Silver Biddy. Lookin' fresh!
The scope for puns here is almost unbearable but all jokes aside these accessories really are as fun as they look and, because The National Gallery shop is currently the only stockist in Ireland, they are also quite exclusive. Call in and have a look for yourself. Who knows, you might even octopu-rchase one - CARP-e diem!
I'm finished. I'm done.
Book of the Week #13
Forgive us for pushing this week's theme to the limits but this week's book of the week happens to be From a Low and Quiet Sea, the fantastic new novel from Donal Ryan. This intricate story is presented in three parts following three seemingly separate characters. It's a fluid read; beautifully written with a unifying message at its core. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Each week you'll find a new book of the week beside the till, alongside the previous week's title, both of which will be on sale with 10% off for their fortnight in the spotlight.
You can get your copy of From a Low and Quiet Sea here
Last week's title was The Long Gaze Back edited by Sinead Gleeson.
See you next week!
