Lavinia Fontana Merino Scarf
Tipperary weavers John Hanly & Co. have collaborated with the National Gallery of Ireland for our Lavinia Fontana: Trailblazer Rule Breaker exhibition on a set of unique scarves and throws to be exclusively sold in the gift shop. Taking the Visit of the Queen of Sheba to the King Solomon by Fontana as their inspiration, Hanly and the shop staff worked together in designing beautiful one off pieces by using the stand out colours and motifs of the iconic painting. The scarf, made of 100% merino wool, has rich navy and orange tones that pull not only from the painting itself but feel perfectly suited to the exhibition as a whole.
