GPO A4 Print
The General Post Office is one of the most interesting buildings in Dublin. It’s not just one of the most elegant buildings in Dublin, with it’s six imposing Ionic columns, it was the last of the great Georgian public buildings of its kind erected in Dublin.
The GPO was the main stronghold for the Irish volunteers during The Rising and came under heavy attack. As a result, the building was destroyed by fire but was rebuilt many years later the Irish Free State government. Bullet holes are still visible in the columns to this day. Today the building functions as the headquarters of An Post, the Irish Postal Service.
Jando's GPO print is part of their “Dublin Town” series, an architecturally inspired collection of contemporary open edition prints incorporating vivid inks and eye-catching textual elements reminiscent of vintage gig posters.
Reproductions of Jando's original screen prints, their fine art archival prints are guaranteed to retain their vivid colour and striking aesthetic for a lifetime. Designed and printed in their Dublin studio, each print is hand signed to guarantee authenticity.
Jando care deeply about the environment and use only recycled paper and card made from wood free ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) pulp. All prints are packaged in clear protective sleeves made from corn starch and are 100% biodegradable.
