Delaunay 'Homage to Blériot' Silk Tie
In 1909, the French aviator and engineer Louis Blériot made the first flight across the English channel. This silk tie from Fox & Chave is printed with details from the painting 'Homage to Blériot' (1914) by the French artist Robert Delaunay (1885-1941). Associated with the Cubists and Der Blaue Reiter, he was inspired by colour theory and co-founded the Orphism movement with his wife, the artist Sonia Delaunay.
The painting reflects his influences with its pure bright colour and abstracted, geometric forms.
Fox & Chave produce high quality, 100% silk ties inspired by the arts.
