Connemara Cottages Canvas Print
Connemara Cottages Canvas Print
Paul Henry left a legacy of penetrating observations of the quintessential western Irish landscape, captured in a powerful and memorable, almost poster-like style. Indeed, during the 1930s his paintings were reproduced in travel literature and posters as advertisements for the west as a tourist destination. His works of this decade, to which this painting belongs, concentrate on the landscape itself, its distinctive thatched cottages, rolling mountains, bogs, lakes and cloud-filled skies.
