The Star of The Seas Silver Necklace

The Foraged Finds collection debuts replicas of Irish botanicals found around the Lost Forest farm, within knotted hedgerows, or lovingly grown in the Lost Forest cottage garden. Every treasure has been entirely handcrafted by Gillian using a handmade mold, and intricately fashioned by hand in recycled eco- friendly 99.9% fine silver. All the finds retain their beautiful form and idiosyncrasies that make them truly unique, and wonderfully tactile.

Each item then goes through a highly skilled and intensive process using the ancient art of Keum Boo. Gillian uses the technique of burnishing with heat and pressure to apply multiple layers of silver surface. The action of diffusion permanently bonds the gold to the silver creating a sumptuous and luxurious result.

This piece features a sweet starfish found naturally expired along the wild shores of Ireland.

The hand of the maker is evident in each piece as no machinery has been used during making. This is a charming characteristic of a handcrafted item.
